Communist lawmakers tapping in protest

The members of the Communist parliamentary group tapped their fingers and feet in Thursday's sitting of the legislative body, in protest that several of the bills proposed by the group have not been included in the agenda, including the initiative to set the period during which the head of state should be elected, Info-Prim Neo reports. Communist MP Grigore Petrenco requested that the Speaker provide explanations over the meeting that he had on Wednesday with managers of state institutions and agencies. “Mister Lupu, you exceeded your authority. As who did you call that meeting?” asked the lawmaker. The Head of Parliament said he took notice of the question, but Grigore Petrenco insisted that he be provided with an answer. As a result, Marian Lupu disconnected the microphone into which the MP was speaking. Dissatisfied that they were not allowed to intervene, the Communist lawmakers started to tap. On February 23, Marian Lupu gathered together the chairpersons of parliamentary commissions and the heads of state agencies and instructed them to submit proposals how to regulate the prices of the products and services that have grown dearer by this weekend.
