Communist lawmakers boycott Parliament sittings

The parliamentary group of the Communist Party (PCRM) is boycotting the sittings of the legislative body, arguing the current legislature is illegitimate. “Taking part means contributing to the genocide against the people,” the party says in a statement addressed to the people, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the PCRM, the mandate of the current administration expired on January 15, when the Alliance for European Integration perfidiously compromised the attempt to elect the head of state. “The current legislative body, by all the possible acts – from the drafting of bills to the unconstitutional attempts to elect the head of state – can only make the current administration more responsible for the usurpation of power,” reads the statement. The Parliament’s first meeting of the spring-summer session was set for February 16.
