Communist faction will not sign agreement to constitute CMC’s Standing Bureau
The faction of the Communist Party (PCRM) will not sign the agreement on the constitution of the Standing Bureau of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). According to the Communist councilors, the Standing Bureau will not solve the existing problems. On the contrary, it will block the Council’s work, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference on October 25, Communist councilor Serghei Zavorotko said that the Standing Bureau is set up not according to the principle of proportionality, depending on the number of seats of every faction. According to him, it is proposed that the Standing Bureau should include by two representatives of every faction at a time when the PCRM has 26 councilors, while the parties of the Alliance for European Integration − 25 (the PL − 17, the PLDM − 7, while the PDM − 1).
Boris Golovin, the head of the Communist faction on the CMC, told the same news conference that the AEI councilors’ dissatisfaction with the presence of Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Ion Ceban, who renounced their seats, at the October 21 meeting of the Council was nothing but a new method of preventing the meeting from running smoothly and of depriving the Communist group of its seats.
Boris Golovin voiced hope that on November 3, when the meeting of the CMC will go on, there will be adopted the decision on the constitution of the specialized commissions. The PCRM insists that it should hold a majority of seats in all the seven commissions and the presidency of four of them.
