Communist councilors against parking lot in Chisinau’s central square
The Communist faction on the Chisinau Municipal Council does not accept the mayor’s proposal to set up a parking lot in the Great National Assembly Square. According to the Communist councilors, by such an act the mayor intends to hinder the protests staged by the PCRM in the central square of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It is evident that drivers’ interests have nothing to do with this problem. In the given situation, both the mayor and his real ‘masters’ are afraid of the size of the protests mounted by us,” reads a statement issued by the PCRM.
“The Communist faction protests against the barbarous conjuncture projects launched by political charlatans and will make use of all the legal means available to prevent the implementation of this destructive project.”
In the February 27 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the Architecture Division to design a scheme to set up a parking lot in the Great National Assembly Square.
