Communist councilor Petru Dontsov votes together with AEI

Half a year after the elections, the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on January 25 approved the first decisions in its new composition, by the votes of the councilors of the Alliance for European Integration and a Communist councilman, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I do not leave the Communist faction, but I will vote for the decisions aimed at solving the problems faced by Chisinau, no matter what political forces propose them. The capital city and its residents should not be hostage of political ambitions,” said Petru Dontsov, who was the only member of the Communist faction attending the meeting. Stage manager Sandu Grecu, who is a Liberal-Democratic councilman, congratulated the councilors on this success. “Our colleagues in Parliament did not manage to unite on Eminescu’s day. We succeeded in uniting on the anniversary of 160 years of Caragiale’s birth. Congratulations!,” he stated. Liberal councilor Oleg Cernei said that after a long period of inactivity, the CMC held a meeting and showed that the people’s interests are above the political interests and group interests. The Communist councilors did not come to the meeting. Only the faction’s deputy head Valery Pavlov came, besides Dontsov, but he did not register. Pavlov left the meeting after saying that it was illegal and the mayor called it intentionally at the same hour as the hearing centering on the three seats of Chisinau councilor. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the leader of the Communist faction on the CMC Boris Golovin refused to comment on the position of Petru Dontsov. The CMC has 51 councilors. Twenty-five of them represent the AEI, while 26 the Communist Party.
