Communist and Democrat MPs dissatisfied with Ionita’s report
The Communist and Democrat lawmakers expressed their dissatisfaction with the report on the raider attacks on banks presented Friday in Parliament by the chairman of the commission on economy, budget and finance Veaceslav Ionita. They said the report accuses the intuition that in fact acted according to the law. The MPs reached the conclusion that there must be created a working group that would examine the reports of all the parliamentary commissions and would later report in Parliament who is to blame and must be punished, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Presenting the report, Veaceslav Ionita said that as a result of hearings centering on the dubious dealings in shares owned by foreigners it was established that one of the questioned institutions, the National Financial Market Commission (CNPF), showed lack of responsibility and incapacity. “It reacted with delay, exposing thus the participants in the market to the risk of losing the property. The commission is skeptical about the ability or readiness of the National Financial Market Commission to monitor and supervise the securities market,” said Veaceslav Ionita.
He recommended the legislature to take attitude to the work of the CNPF so as to strengthen its capacity to monitor and supervise the market and reduce the possibility of performing dubious operations with shares.
The Communist and Democrat lawmakers said the accusations made against the CNPF are unsupported. Communist MP Igor Dodon said the institution acted correctly, while Democratic lawmaker Dumitru Diacov stated that Veaceslav Ionita assumed the role of judge.
After it was suggested creating a working group that would examine the reports, the MPs could not agree who should form part of it. The Liberal and Democratic groups proposed that it should include specialists from outside the Parliament, while the Communist and Liberal-Democrat MPs said it should consist of lawmakers. Without reaching a decision, the Communists fielded Iurie Muntean, Zinaida Chistruga and Anatolie Zagorodnyi, while the Liberal-Democratic group - Veaceslav Ionita, Angela Agache and Lilian Zaporojan.
During the sitting, there were also heard the reports of the commission on national security, defense and public order and the legal commission for appointments and immunities. Chairman of the security commission Alexandru Stoianoglo said the Prosecutor General’s Office acted according to the law and took all the necessary measures, while the legal commission’s head Victor Popa recommended that the Ministry of Justice should make an analysis of the legislation and suggest amendments that would prevent such cases in the future.
