Common practice for ensuring legality of documents for regaining Romanian nationality

Chisinau and Bucharest agreed to set a common practice for ensuring the legality of notarial documents for regaining Romanian nationality. It envisions punishments for the notaries who do not do their job according to the legislation. Related problems were discussed by Moldovan Deputy Minister of Justice Vladimir Grosu in a meeting with the president of Romania’s National Authority for Citizenship Monica Camarascu, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Justice, the two officials conferred on the difficulties encountered by the notaries of Moldova owing to the conditions imposed by Romania with a view to preventing cases of falsification of notarial documents.

Monica Camarascu noted the positive developments in the field. About 10-20 false notarial documents written by Moldovan notaries for applicants for Romanian nationally were identified daily at the start of 2012. Now this figure is 10-20 cases a month.
