Commission on economy in favor of reducing number of inspection bodies
The lawmakers of the commission on economy, budget and finance voted in favor of halving the number of inspection bodies. The bodies that will continue to carry out inspections at companies will be obliged to do it transparently and by issuing notices in advance, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The commission’s head, Liberal-Democratic MP Veaceslav Ionita said that there are 69 inspection bodies now. “We even joked that the companies need three months to receive all of these bodies. These legislative amendments are aimed at reducing the number of inspection bodies to 32 and at strictly regulating the inspections, which must be announced at least three months beforehand. There are only several exceptions concerning people’s lives when inspections can be performed without notice,” said Veaceslav Ionita.
The bill does not apply to the bodies that have specific regulations. These are the Tax Service, the National Bank of Moldova, and the Customs Service. “They have procedures and special laws that regulate their inspections. For example, in the case of Moldova-Gaz or Moldtelecom the economic entities should not be protected from these inspections. We try to protect the economic entities from inspection bodies and the people from monopoles,” said Veaceslav Ionita.
Under the bill, there will be introduced inspection registers for every field and the National Register that will be coordinated and kept by a specialized central body. Based on the Register, there will be analyzed the basic information and compared with the records of the other registers. A national body specialized in inspections will supervise the inspection bodies.
The bill is to be passed by Parliament.
