Commission of inquiry to examine work of Moldova’s Post Office

Parliament created a commission of inquiry to examine the work of Moldova’s Post Office following press reports that anabolic steroids are being transported through this company from Moldova to the EU and the U.S. A legislative initiative to this effect was put forward by the Liberal-Democratic MPs, IPN reports.

According to the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Tudor Deliu, an employee of Moldova’s Post Office stated that he discovered a line for smuggling anabolic steroids, which are conveyed by parcels from Moldova to the United States and EU member states. This also said that the company’s administration not even does not react to combat smuggling, but even protects this scheme.

The commission consists of nine MPs who proportionally represent the parliamentary groups. These are: Vladimir Cernat of the Liberal Party; Vasile Panciuc of the Party of Communists; Adrian Lebedinschi and Grigore Novac of the Party of Socialists; Marcel Raducanu and Vlad Andronache of the Democratic Party;  Grigore Cobzac of the Liberal Democratic Party; Anatolii Zagorodnyi of the Social-Democratic Platform, and Nae Simion Plesca on behalf of the unaffiliated MPs.

The commission of inquiry will analyze the situation and will present a report within 30 days.
