The parliamentary commission of inquiry into the December 23 hunting incident in the Domneasca Forest proposed discharging all those who took part in the hunting and those who contributed to hiding the accidental wounding and to hushing this case up, including officials of the Ministry of Health, the ICT Ministry, “Moldsilva” Agency, and of the natural reserve “Padurea Domneasca”. The commission’s report was presented in the February 15 sitting of Parliament by its chairman, MP Anatolie Zagorodnyi, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Prosecutor General’s Office is urged to take the necessary steps, taking into account the conclusions of the commission, while the Ministry of the Interior is asked to penalize the heads of the responsible operative services. The Supreme Council of Magistrates is requested to initiate the disciplinary procedure against the president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Ion Plesca. “The Government of Moldova should formulate proposals for amending the legislation concerning the State Agency “Moldsilva”, the Border Police Department, the Ministry of the Environment, the State Ecological Inspectorate, the Ministry of Health, the Security and Information Service, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Ministry of the Interior. It also must identify possibilities of providing the Health Ministry’s service AVIASAN with helicopters for transporting persons who need urgent medical care,” Anatolie Zagorodny said, quoting the report. The commission held 14 meetings, including on the territory of the natural reserve “Padurea Domneasca, and questioned 78 persons. The MPs are to adopt a draft decision based on the report. Under the decision, the Government will present proposals for adjusting the legislation with a view to removing the drawbacks identified by the commission to Parliament within three months. The materials gathered by the commission will be sent for additional examination to the Prosecutor General’s Office, which by April 1 will inform Parliament about the taken steps.
