Commission for modifying article 78 of Constitution set up
Eleven members of the parliamentary groups will work on the modification of the Constitution's article 78 concerning the method of electing the head of state. The commission was constituted by a majority of votes at Thursday's sitting of the Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The commission consists of four Communist MPs – Vadim Misin, Anatolie Zagorodnyi, Igor Vremea and Vasili Sova, two Liberal-Democrat MPs - Valeriu Strelet and Mihai Shleahtitski, two Liberal MPs – Ion Hadarca and Valeriu Munteanu, and by one MP of the Democratic Party and the Moldova Noastra Alliance – Aurel Baiesu and Ion Plesca.
It will also include one of the authors of the legislative initiative to constitute the commission, the leader of the group of MPs of the United Moldova Party Vladimir Turcan. Ion Plesca will be the commission's chairman, Vadim Misin – its vice chairman, while Aurel Baiesu – secretary.
The Communist parliamentary group din not attend the sitting. Its leader Maria Postoiko proposed the Communist candidates for members of the commission in a letter.
