Commission for electing prosecutor accepts three applicants rejected earlier

The commission for selecting candidates for the post of prosecutor general accepted the applications of three persons that were earlier rejected. These are: Boris Muravschi, Vitalie Pirlog, and Ilie Rotaru.

The commission’s chairman Corneliu Gurin has told IPN that the commission additionally examined the applications of the three in an extraordinary meeting and decided that these persons’ rights to take part in the contest cannot be limited.

The next meeting will take place on March 27, when the candidates will be interviewed. If possible, the commission will select a person for the post of prosecutor general and will present the candidate in Parliament.

Eight applicants will compete in the contest. The other candidates are: Mihai Petrache, Valeriu Plesca, Tudor Suveica, Gheorghe Nogai, and Emanoil Plosnita.

The post of prosecutor general was vacated by Valeriu Zubco following a hunting incident that resulted in the death of a person. The case was hidden from the public.
