A commemorative plaque to Ilie Untila (1935-2000) will be placed on the facade of the house where he lived, on Mihail Kogalniceanu St. The decision was taken by the Chisinau Municipal Council at the request of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. The costs of making the plaque will be covered by the academician's family. Doctor Habilitate of Agricultural Sciences and lecturer Ilie Untila, who had been a member of the Academy of Sciences, carried out scientific researches on the genetics of ear crops. He has written over 230 scientific works, including the Catalog of the Wold Winter Wheat Collection. He obtained 12 invention patents for homologated sorts. In 1983, he was conferred the honorific title 'Emeritus Person', while in 1995 was awarded the Order of the Republic.
