"For three years - and, in fact, for 11 years - the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian army have been demonstrating to the whole world what it means to defend your needs and your nation, to defend your homeland from a barbaric aggression, what some people oxymoronically call Russkii Mir". The statement belonged to Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and was made at the Ukrainian Embassy during the commemorative event dedicated to the three years since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, IPN reports.

Mihai Popsoi said that today marks a tragic and painful anniversary. But at the same time it marks the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people. The official reaffirmed Moldova's continued support for Ukraine.

"The Republic of Moldova has been and remains part of the free world and remains firmly anchored in supporting the Ukrainian people. Citizens of the Republic of Moldova have opened their arms and homes wide to host thousands of Ukrainian refugees. So do neighbors, so do friends. This is the Christian way," the foreign minister said.

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi expressed his confidence that the mandate of the new Ukrainian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Paun Rohovei, will be a successful one, contributing to the strengthening of the friendship between our peoples.

In his speech, Parliament's President Igor Grosu thanked the Ukrainian people for their courage and resistance, emphasizing that Ukraine must achieve a just peace based on respect for territorial integrity.

"Today marks three years of pain, three years of injustice, but also three years of heroism, patriotism, resistance, a lesson for us all. After these three years, the value and the price of the word 'peace' have become something else," said Igor Grosu.

Officials paid tribute to those who lost their lives for the cause of Ukraine. "Glory to the Ukrainian people! Glory to Ukrainian soldiers and to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the future of Ukraine! This memory will be eternal and our support must remain unwavering. Glory to Ukraine!" added Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi.
