The Council of the National Union of Independence War Veterans (UNVRI) considers that the integrated history textbooks lately introduced in the schools is an attempt to eulogize the soviet period and to neglect the Independence Declaration of the Republic of Moldova. Through this course is intended to hide the historic through of the nation and it is an attempt to manipulate the young generation and to annihilate all that was obtained during this 15 years of independence through considerable efforts, is said in a declaration of UNVRI, cited by Info-Prim Neo. The organization asks for the cancellation of the order on introducing the integrated history course and to continue teaching in pre-higher education institutions the History of Romanians and Universal History, as well as covering all the expenses linked to the publishing of these textbooks by the persons who are responsible of it. Several political parties and NGOs solicited suspending this course. Previously, the Association of Historians requested cancellation until October 1 of the order on introduction of integrated history course and maintaining the previous teaching system.
