Combatants and refugees from Transnistria call on population of this region to boycott Sunday’s referendum
The veterans of the war on independence of the Republic of Moldova and the refugees from the left side of Nistru, condemn the organization of Transnistria’s referendum on independence planned for September 17, 2006 and supported by several political parties from the Russian Federation, a declaration of this organization says.
The signers addressed a message to the population from the left side of Nistru not to be intimidated by the authorities from Tiraspol and to boycott the illegal referendum, which violates the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and the international laws.
“We plead in favor of a united, independent and prosperous country for our children and the children of our children, the declaration signed by the National Union of Independence War Veterans, The Center for the protection of refugees, combatants and inhabitants of Transnistria concludes.
Both Chisinau and the international community announced that the referendum planned for September 17 by the unrecognized administration from Tiraspol is not legal, and its results will not be recognized.
