Colonita lyceum gets swimming pool
Chisinau's suburban comuna of Colonita is the first village in Moldova to have a swimming pool for schoolchildren. It was opened 30 years after the opening of the Gheorghe Ghimpu Lyceum, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the Chisinau City Hall.
“The swimming pool of the Gheorghe Ghimpu Lyceum in Colonita and the one of the Mihai Viteazul Lyceum in Chisinau are the first facilities of this kind that have been rebuilt and put into use in the last 20 years since Moldova’s independence”, declared Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca at the opening of the pool.
Mayor of Colonita Angela Zaporojan thanked the municipal authorities and the contractor for their contribution to the construction of the pool.
The reconstruction took a year and a half and cost about 1 million lei. The money was allocated from the Chisinau municipal budget. The Gheorghe Ghimpu Lyceum in Colonita is attended by about 400 children.
