The collections of the National Museum of Arts will be supplemented with 26 works by national plastic artists to the value of 525,000. The works were selected by a council of experts of the Ministry of Culture, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry says there were bought paintings, sculptures and graphic works made by such famous Moldovan artists as Mihail Grecu, Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, Eleonora Romanescu, Sergiu Cuciuc, Elena Bontea, Eleonora Romanescu, Elena Karacentsev (holder of the Ministry of Culture’s award 2016), Andrei Mudrea, Timotei Batranu, Tudor Catarga, Ion Postovanu and others.
As 2016 was declared the Year of Mihai Grecu, in accordance with the national plan of action of the Ministry of Culture, there were purchased two works by master Mihail Grecu, the state collection being supplemented with “My adoptive parents” (1972-1973) and “Field flowers” (1972).
