Collection of discourses of 40 authors from different countries launched in Chisinau

The Academy of Sciences of Moldova launched the book “Dialogue of Civilizations” that includes the discourses and works of 40 authors from different countries, including Moldova, who took part in the International Scientific Conference with the same name held in 2012, IPN reports.

Victor Juc, vice director of the Academy’s Juridical and Political Researches Institute, said the central idea of the book is that inter-civilization and intra-civilization dialogue can be ensured inside the states and in the international relations.

“By this book, we want to show that it’s possible for the civilizations and peoples to live in peace and security, by communication and cooperation. By this volume, we contributed to establishing the inter-civilization dialogue,” stated Victor Juc, adding that the book is intended for university teachers and those who are interested in the history of culture and civilization.

Ana Pascaru, head of the Philosophy Section of the Academy’s Institute of History, said the book promotes freedom, morals, education and responsibility. “These are values on which a dialogue is based. Dialogue means promotion of the own values in the communication with those who are near you. If this does not happen, it’s not a dialogue, but imposition of the own opinions,” she stated.

The Academy’s vice president Mariana Slapac said the authors in the “Dialogue of Civilizations” proposed solutions that can be implemented in life, related to the understanding of communication between people with different views and thoughts.

The book can be found in the library of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
