The spring-summer session of the legislature closed swiftly and many of the legislative initiatives proposed by the Liberal-Democratic group were blocked by the colleagues from the Alliance for European Integration (AEI), the group’s leader Valeriu Strelet said a news conference on July 29, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“In the spring-summer session, the PLDM concentrated its efforts on transforming Moldova into a prosperous and European state. During the session, the Liberal-Democratic group proposed 28 legislative initiatives, six of which were adopted. One was withdrew, one rejected, while the others are being examined. Together with the colleagues from the AEI, the Liberal-Democrat lawmakers presented 12 legislative initiatives, eight of which were approved,” said Valeriu Strelet.
He spoke about the aspects that, according to the PLDM, affected the work capacity and efficiency of the legislative body, including the situation created while devising and adopting the budgetary-fiscal policy for the next year and the blocking by the alliance partners of the bills concerning the demonopolization of the metals market, increasing of the Premier’s response capacities in crisis situations, provision of concessions to the MPs who signed the Declaration of Independence, strengthening of the post-harvesting infrastructure and others.
Valeriu Strelet said in the autumn-winter session the Liberal-Democrat lawmakers will demand that the legislature works according to a new, control-based model.
The last sitting of the spring-summer session took place on July 28. The lawmakers will be on vacation until August 25. From that day, they will be involved in the activities that will be organized to celebrate 20 years of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence. The autumn-winter session starts in September.
