According to Cotet, the damaged pipes in six apartment buildings are made of cast iron and did not resist the sudden change in temperatures. The pipes made of plastic are intact, the deputy mayor said. He also said the repair works will start this week. The necessary sums will be identified, but the Dwellers Associations will also have to contribute money. Mihai Arusoi, commercial director of the Chisinau heat supplier Termocom, said the very cold weather damaged pipes at the Municipal Hospital No. 4 located on Columna St. The pipes go under the floor. In order to remove the leakages, the patients from several wards will have to be moved to other rooms. The two officials said no other accidents have been reported.
