CoE experts to present opinions on personal data protection

Experts of the Council of Europe will present their opinions and recommendations concerning the amendment of the legal framework on personal data protection of Moldova in Chisinau on July 5, IPN reports.

The event will bring together CoE rapporteurs and experts in the area of the rights to private life and personal data protection, invitees from international organizations, national experts and high-ranking officials from Moldova, representatives of civil society and the private sector.

The recommendations of the CoE experts will refer to a bill to amend the Law on Personal Data Protection and to draft regulations of the National Center for Personal Data Protection. The documents are to be endorsed by the Ministry of Justice.

The bill lays down the rules of using and monitoring means that can affect the right to the inviolability of the private life. It refers to hidden photo and video devices like hidden cameras, drones and IT solutions that enable to obtain information with limited accessibility in secret.

The draft regulations define the objectives, organization, powers, guarantees and other aspects of the activity of the National Center for Personal Data Protection of Moldova.
