The sports dance club Codreanca launched an album that includes the most important events in the history of the club headed by Petru and Svetlana Gozun. “Though initially we planned to relate the history of Codreanca only, the album turned out an encyclopedia of the Moldovan sports dance,” said Petru Gozun, who is the co-author of the work. “The album includes all the champions and finalists of the world and European sports dance competitions,” the trainer said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Attending the launch ceremony, Vladimir Dragomir, chairman of the parliamentary commission for culture, said he would insist that the activity of Codreanca Club and its album be included in the history textbooks. The album includes the history of the Moldovan sports dance, selections from the interviews given by Petru Gozun and the award-winning dances of the best dancers of the club. The work was published at Bastina-Radoc printing house. It was written by Antip Taralunga and Petru Gozun. Codreanca Club was founded in 1973. It had then 150 members. In 1990, the membership rose to 600. Presently, Codreanca is the largest sports dance club in the country with more than 1,200 members. The group was on tour on all the continents and won the title of World Champion and European Champion in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
