The changeable weather brings additional risks for pedestrians and drivers. The State Hydrometeorological Service warns that from February 3 at 7pm until February 4 at 10am, ice is expected to form on roads in Chisinau and most of the country, IPN reports.

To prevent incidents, Chisinau City Hall recommends residents to use public transportation instead of personal cars. Drivers are advised to avoid parking on roadsides, sidewalks or under trees in order not to hinder traffic and to allow the intervention of snow-clearing machines, if necessary.

The municipality warns pedestrians to be careful on pavements, where the surface can become extremely slippery. At the same time, the local authorities announce that they are ready to intervene to minimize the impact of the weather on traffic and citizens' safety.
