Coalition 2009 points to irregularities at polling places

The Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections – Coalition 2009 has identified irregularities at some of the polling places. These include mainly the absence of the “voted” stamp in the loose paper accompanying the identity card, the non-inclusion of proceedings in the ballot box and continuation of the election campaign, a communiqué from the Coalition says, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. There were cases when the “Elections 05.04.09” stamp was not put in the loose paper accompanying the identity card at the polling places in Berlinti and Corjeuti villages of Briceni district, Olanesti and Stefan-Voda settlements of Stefan-Voda district and Dorotcaia village of Dubasari district. The ballot box at the polling station No.16 in Trifesti village of Floresti district was sealed without putting the proceedings in the box, while the proceedings at the polling station No. 142 in Chisinau were introduced in the ballot box half an hour after the voting started. Election posters of the AMN and PCRM wee noticed near the polling place in Chircaiesti village of Causeni district. The polling station No. 44 in Chisinau was opened earlier. According to Coalition 2009, the campaigning on the election day is a serious violation of the legislation. But the PPCD, PDM, the Spiritual Development Party “United Moldova” and the Conservative Party have active websites with electoral content. In addition, EU TV rebroadcast an opinion program and a news bulletin dating from April 3. The right to vote of a number of patients of the Psychiatric Hospital in Orhei is violated. The electoral list submitted by the institution to the Central Election Commission includes only patients confined to bed, though there are patients with the right to vote that are not confined to bed, the communiqué also says.
