Coachman badly hurt in accident
A coachman has been seriously injured after his carriage he drove was hit by a vehicle on one of the most congested streets in the capital.
Inspector of traffic security Service of the Chisinau Traffic Police Ion Roscovanu told Info-Prim Neo that the accident has happened at 5.30 pm on Hancesti Blvd. A Cadillac car, driven by a 22-year-old woman hit a cart driven by a man aged 45. As a result the coachman suffered mental shock and injures to his left leg. Preliminary investigation ascertained that the car driver is to be blamed for the accident.
A ZIL lorry, driven by a 19-year-old man, hit on Calea Basarabiei street a young girl aged 21, who suffered mental shock.
On Puskin street, at 10.00 am, a Nissan car hit a 60 year-old woman, who was taken to hospital. She received mental shock and leg injuries.
A second-year student of the Physical Culture and Sports University, being under the influence of alcohol, was hit at 10.00 pm by an Opel-Astra car on Kiev street.
Over the last week the police officers have fined 566 car drivers for breaching traffic rules, including 120 fines for speeding, 119 – for manoeuvres, 8 – driving under the influence, by 42 fines each for not obeying traffic lights and having front windows dark. Four road accidents, which resulted in 4 injured persons and 15 accidents with no victims, had occurred during the Monday.
