A sum of 98.5 million lei for paying cold-month allowances and 39.4 million lei for paying social assistance were transferred to payment service providers on April 3, the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) has said, being quoted by IPN.

According to the CNAS, the cold-month allowances and social assistance for the previous month are distributed by the payment service providers chosen by the beneficiary.

If the money remains unclaimed by recipients for six consecutive months, Moldova’s Post Office transfers it back to the accounts of the CNAS and this can be collected by the beneficiaries within a year of the month the allowance or social assistance is set.

The CNAS noted that it also transferred 105.3 million lei to Moldova’s Post Office and 49.5 million lei to banks for paying monthly state allowances for special merits, monthly state allowances and compensations for food products.
