The National Social Insurance Company (CNAS) explains how men can claim the paternity benefit. The payment and leave are granted for a period of up to 15 calendar days and can be offered in one go or divided into a maximum of 3 installments of 5 days each.
Entitled to the benefit are fathers who can confirm a contributory period of at least 3 years in total or at least 9 months in the last 24 months prior to the child’s birth. The application for paternity leave must be submitted to all the employers where the applicant works, CNAS said in a video post.
The paternity benefit payment can be received by any method chosen by the beneficiary and is available via the governmental electronic payment service MPay.
