CNAM will take over primary and hospital medical assistance information systems

The automated primary medical assistance information system and the automated hospital medical assistance information system that are managed by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection will be taken over by the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM), IPN reports, quoting a draft Government decision that was proposed for public consultations.

According to the authorities, the move will increase the security of personal data stored in the systems. The development of the components for connecting laboratory equipment will ensure the automatization of the process of registering the results of investigations in patients’ examination applications and will minimize the risk of introducing erroneous results. It is also planned to develop the system for issuing the medical leave certificate in electronic form and to this way minimize the risk of fraud.

The national electronic register of family doctor’s practices will acquire another development level. In real time, the information about the work of family doctors will be monitored, ensuring the efficient management and equitable geographical distribution. The integration of the register with the automated primary medical assistance information system and the automated hospital medical assistance information system will allow to better manage the waiting lists and will enable the CANM to more efficiently plan its budget for endoprosthesis, dialysis and other difficult services, says the informative note to the draft decision.
