A sum of 362 million lei is needed to cover the pay raises for almost 43,000 healthcare workers. The calculations were done by the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) in connection with the Government’s decision that allows increasing the salaries of employees of public health facilities involved in the mandatory health insurance system, ambulance drivers and bioengineers by 30% as of September 1, IPN reports.
As a result of the done calculations, representatives of the company initiated the signing of additional agreements by which the value of the contracts signed in 2020 with public health facilities involved in the mandatory health insurance system will be raised.
During the first days of September, the CNAM is to transfer the payments that will include the pay raises to the contracted service providers in advance. The raises are designed to motivate the healthcare workers, especially during the pandemic, and to also contribute to improving the quality of medical services provided for the population.
