The National Health Insurance Company CNAM has allocated 628,000 lei from its prophylactic measures fund to buy a second batch of 5,000 doses of rabies vaccine for this year, it said in a press release.
The vaccine is made in India and was received on November 7 at the national vaccine storage facility of the National Agency for Public Health.
The vaccine is prescribed to prevent rabies in children and adults, being used before and after exposure to the rabies virus as primary immunization.
The first installment of 7,000 doses was purchased in April 2023 for 879,000 lei, money also allocated from the CNAM's prophylactic measures fund.
