CNA will operate anti-corruption education system intervention cell

An intervention cell will operate at the National Anti-corruption Center, which will examine complaints regarding the collection of informal payments in the education system. According to a CNA press release, complaints may be submitted to the Center: by email at secretariat@cna.md, at the Center's headquarters in the hearing room, at the national anti-corruption free 24-hour hotline at the 0 800 55555 number, but also on the Center's Facebook page.

The measure comes as a result of a joint activity plan between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the CNA. Additionally MECC issued an order "regarding some actions to prevent and combat the phenomenon of collection of informal payments in the education system".

The order provides that teachers and managers of educational institutions must react promptly in "counteracting the phenomenon of corruption within educational institutions, by examining and elucidating the concrete situations of involvement of subjects in corruption cases".

CNA and MECC will focus on promoting integrity policies in the education system by organizing anti-corruption trainings and by informing the teaching staff and parents about the illegality and inadmissibility of initiating and instigating informal payments.
