The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) changed partially the composition of the commission for the regulation of urbonimisms and installation of commemorative plaques. Now the commission will also include councilors Mihai Magdei (AMN), Oazu Nantoi, (PDM), Valeri Pavlov (PCRM) and Liuba Vicol (PL), Info-Prim Neo reports. Chief architect of Chisinau Vladimir Modarca said the commission was created in 1995 and its composition has not been modified since 2006. It consists of 15 members and is headed by Nistor Grozavu, deputy mayor of Chisinau. Councilor Oleg Cernei, of the AMN, proposed excluding Ion Negrei, the vice president of the Association of Historians of Moldova, from the commission and reelecting a new member instead of him. The councilors decided to examine the issue at another meeting. At the same meeting, the councilors decided to place commemorative plaques in memory of historian and scientist Iacov Copanschi, chemist Nicolae Garbalau, musicologist Efim Bogdanovschi, scientist Constantin Florea, active promoters of the national cultural values Gheorghe and Paul Gore, and academician Silviu Berejan.
