The Chisinau councilors were unable to hold a meeting on September 26 as the quorum was not present. Only the Communist faction, unaffiliated councilor Teo Carnat and the group of Socialists came to the City Hall. Secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) Valeriu Didencu said he was informed by the other factions that they will not attend the meeting, but wasn’t provided with explanations.
“The mayor has obstructed the local public administration for two years,” said Communist councilor Victor Gurau. He named the local councilors who didn’t come to the meeting as ‘political stray dogs’.
The quorum in the CMC is ensured by 26 councilors. But only 24 were present. The councilors were to examine an agenda that included 52 issues.
