The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) put up candidates for the post of member of the Election Council of the Chisinau Electoral District No. 1. These are Victor Puiu and Iulian Balan – basic members, and Tamara Rosca, Ion Dorogoi and Ion Stratulat – substitute members, Info Prim Neo reports. Ion Stratulat was the most discussed candidate. He was proposed by councilor Oleg Cernei. The fielded candidates will be presented to the Central Election Commission for approval. The Election Council of the Chisinau Electoral District will be set up afterward. Under the electoral legislation, two candidates for the Election Council of the Electoral District of the second level are proposed by the district court or the Court of Appeals, another two candidates – by the local councils of the second level and the People's Assembly of Gagauzia. The Chisinau Municipal Council suggests candidates for the Election Council of the Chisinau Electoral District No. 1.
