CMC examines new Regulations on placing advertising in the city
Chisinau municipality might have new Regulations on authorising and placing outdoor advertising. A draft decision in this respect is set on the agenda of the Chisinau Municipality Council meeting, scheduled for Thursday, April 5.
Interim director of Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations Division, Nicon Zaporojan argues the necessity of such regulations by modern requirements for design and architectural aspect.
According to the cited source, the document’s objective would be to update, apply and favour modern technologies so as to make the advertising in the city to reach the level of worldwide standards in the field, as well as to pass from quantity to quality.
In Zaporojan’s opinion, the large number of billboards affects the traffic and works on reconstructing and installing underground utilities works. To diminish the influence of these factors, it is needed to revise the placement of billboards and reduce their number. This would redirect the outdoor advertising from streets on buildings.
Until now, the placement of the outdoor advertising in the city was performed according to a Regulation approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council in 1999.
