On 23 March entered in force the decision of Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on increasing from 7 to 15 lei per day for free meals of pupils of auxiliary schools of the capital. According to Public Relations Service of Chisinau mayoralty, CMC decision regards 225 pupils of the auxiliary school nr.7 and technological school for children with poor eyesight. There will be allotted 414,100 lei annually for them. The quantum for meals of children of the other types of pre-school and pre-university education institutions are at the same level set by CMC in January 2006. For pupils of the primary schools, gymnasiums, general schools and high schools the amount for breakfast is 3 lei. The same amount for breakfast is for 6,000 of classes V-IX of social vulnerable families, according to lists approved by Municipal Department of Education, Science, Youth and Sport. In the same time, 10% of pupils of social vulnerable families, who attend the additional group will have the breakfast and lunch of 7 lei. For pupils of boarding schools, general schools and special regime boarding schools also will be allotted 15 lei per day, for pupils accommodated in boarding schools and 12.5 lei for pupils non-accommodated in the latter ones. The pupils of municipal high school with sportive profile and pre-university institutions will benefit from 8.9 lei per day for pupils of classes I-III, 13 lei – for pupils of classes IV-VI, 16 lei – for pupils of classes VII-VIII and 19 lei – for pupils of classes IX-XII. For children with tuberculosis of special kindergartens and sanatorium classes the amount of meals will be 18 lei per day, and for disabled children of special kindergartens - 11 lei per day.
