The Chisinau Municipal Budget (CMC) adopted the 2009 budget on Tuesday. Both the expenses and the incomes are set at 1.796 billion lei. The largest amounts will go for education and heating compensations, Info-Prim Neo reports. Social Democratic faction leader Emil Gutu said after the vote that adding more incomes makes the budget look more adequate than the one voted in the first reading. “The transfers from the state budget are 6 million lei, while they were 100 million last year, and this is to prove that the Government undermines the work of the CMC and of the City Hall,” said the leader of the Liberal faction, Corina Fusu. She said the figure earmark for parks was decreased, while the expenditures for capital investments (102.3 million lei) will be distributed at another sitting of the CMC. According to the Housing direction manager, Petru Gontea, the expenditures for the housing sector are insufficient and cover but 27% of the necessary. The Communist councilors are satisfied with passing the budget in the final reading. Councilor Reghina Apostolov says the present budget is more realistic that the initial version and has all the chances to be executed, provided the law is observed.
