CMC allocates 5.5m lei more to Tantareni mayor’s office

The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on June 28 approved the allocation of another 5.5 million lei to the mayor’s office of Tantareni village of Anenii Noi district. The draft decision was examined on the initiative of deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu, IPN reports.

According to the deputy mayor, the municipal authorities committed themselves to do many things in Tantareni to compensate the villagers for the consequences of the transportation of household waste from Chisinau to the local waste dump. It was thus decided to allocate 4.5 million lei for street lighting and 1 million lei for stopping up and asphalting local roads.

Earlier, the CMC allotted 500,000 lei for street lighting in the village. Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu assured the money will be spent only based on projects submitted by the local authorities of Tantareni so that the spending could be monitored.

In the middle of June, the municipal councilors decided to allocated 6 million lei to the Tantareni mayor’s office and 4 million lei to the Geamana mayor’s office in Anenii Noi district to compensate the residents of the two villages for accepting to reopen the local waste dump.
