The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) decided to allocate 6 million lei to the Tantareni mayor’s office and another 4 million lei to the Geamana mayor’s office of Anenii Noi district in compensation for the reopening of the local waste dump following the garbage crisis of last summer, IPN reports.

The decision was taken on June 18 by the votes of 45 municipal councilors. The money will be used to modernize the infrastructure of the two villages. In Geamana, for example, the local kindergarten will be extensively repaired.

Earlier, the municipality promised 12 million lei for works to strengthen the banks of the waste dump and to repair the road in Tantareni.
