Volunteers and members of a number of NGOs are organizing a cleanup event at Chisinau’s Râşcani Park and invite members of the public to join the effort on Sunday starting 12 p.m.
Elena Siomina, PR manager at one of the organizing NGOs, said anyone interested in a cleaner and more beautiful city is welcome to join. The participants will be handed gloves and bags and free drinks and snacks will be available.
The event is meant as an example for the Chisinau residents of how to respect nature and the city. It also aims to raise awareness of pollution in parks, ponds and other recreation areas.
On March 3, a similar event was held around the lake in the City Gates Park, which brought together about 100 participants, mostly from the initiative groups “A city without maxi-taxis”, Verde.md, Forum.md and Abs Recycling.
