Civil aviation in Moldova complies with European aviation standards

As from January 1, 2008, the State Civil Aviation Agency of Moldova (ASAC) will have the status of fully-fledged member of the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA). The obtaining of the status of JAA member is one of the objectives of the EU-Moldova Action Plan, which was proposed by ASAC. According to a press release, ASAC fulfilled all the tasks required to make the civil aviation in Moldova compliant with the European aviation standards for authorisation, navigability and flight operations. JAA experts ascertained that the Republic of Moldova complies with the European norms and praised the specialists for the progress made and the professionalism of the ASAC employees, the communique says. At the same time, ASAC says that the EU-Moldova Action Plan’s stipulations concerning civil aviation have been fully fulfilled. Moldova has been a candidate for joining the Joint Aviation Authorities since 1999.
