Civil Aviation Authority’s permission no longer needed to operate toy drones

The Civil Aviation Authority simplified the procedure for operating unmanned aerial vehicles in the national airspace. It introduced two new categories of unmanned vehicles – Toy and Airmodel - whose flying in the uncontrolled airspace (G class) up to a height of under 30 meters no longer requires the written permission of the Civil Aviation Authority and the preliminary coordination with the air traffic service of the state-run company Moldatsa, IPN reports.

The persons who possess drones that meet other conditions than the aforementioned can continue to ask for the necessary permission from the Light Aviation Division of the Civil Aviation Authority.

“The Civil Aviation Authority is ready to further contribute to the development of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, ensuring, for the purpose, an acceptable level of flight safety and aeronautic security, fulfilling these duties in conditions of maximum transparency,” the Authority says in a press release.
