The Moldovan authorities haven’t been informed about Russia’s intention to resume flights, said the Civil Aviation Authority, referring to the press reports that the Russian Federation on April 9 resumes flights to 52 countries, including the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
“We reiterate that the airspace of the Republic of Moldova was partially reopened to the West and regular passenger flights to and from the Chisinau International Airport could be resumed. The airspaces of Ukraine and the European Union remain closed to Russian airlines. This way, airlines of the Russian Federation cannot operate flights to the Chisinau International Airport,” the Authority noted in a press release.
Quoting governmental sources, the Russian press reported that Russia decided to lift the travel restrictions imposed in connection with COVID-19 and flights to 52 countries, including the Republic of Moldova, will be resumed on April 9.
