Civil Aviation Authority confirms death of Moldovan in Afghanistan

The Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed that a Moldovan who was a member of the crew of the helicopter captured in Afghanistan two days ago is dead. The information was made public by the airline Valan International Cargo Charter and representatives of the contractor of the U.S. Government, IPN reports.

The identity of the Moldovan hasn’t been made known. The Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova acts in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and coordinates the future steps.

There were 18 Afghani passengers on board alongside the three crew members. These were to take part in terrorism fighting missions in Afghanistan, but it’s not known if they were military men. The helicopter was downed in the afternoon of November 24. Four bodies were found at the scene.
