Civic group “Life. Future. People” reaches agreement with Vasile Tarlev

Activist Aurel Bucureanu announced that Vasile Tarlev, the presidential candidate of the Party for Moldova’s Future, has responded to the invitation to sign the manifesto of a civic group called “Life. Future. People”, in exchange for its endorsement.

The manifesto was proposed to all candidates, and among the priorities formulated by the group is the denunciation of agreements that “could lead to the outbreak of a war” in Moldova. This includes the Partnership for Peace agreement with NATO, since, according to Aurel Bucureanu, it portrays Russia as an enemy of Moldova. The group also demands the termination of the Open Skies agreement with the US, signed in 2023.

Bucureanu told a press conference on Friday that the signing of the manifesto was negotiated with Vasile Tarlev’s electoral staff. A consensus was reached on the content of the document and, in the next period, the agreement will be signed. The agreement will enter into force only if Vasile Tarlev wins the election and becomes president, the activist stressed.

In another matter, Aurel Bucureanu criticized the small number of polling stations that will be opened in the Russian Federation for the October 20 election. The activist claimed that there are more than 400,000 Moldovan citizens in Russia, who are thus “deprived of the constitutional right to vote”.
