Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections demands fulfilling electoral promises
The Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections reminds about the necessity of continuously making efforts to ensure the principles of free and fair elections. The call was made on the occasion of the World Election Day that is marked this year on February 7, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections calls on the Moldovans to continue to be active and responsible in exercising their electoral rights and upon the authorities to fulfill the 2011-2014 Governance Program “European Integration: Freedom, Democracy, Welfare”.
In its appeal, the Coalition stresses the necessity of improving the legislation on financing the election campaigns and the financial reporting mechanism and of setting harsher punishments for violating the electoral legislation. The Coalition also asks stimulating the young people’s participation in elections by ensuring an efficient formal and informal education system in this field, stepping up the efforts to create the state information system “Elections”, and allocating money for implementing it.
Another request is to create optimal conditions for participation in electoral processes for the Moldovans living in the eastern districts of the county, by establishing separate electoral offices for the Transnistrian region.
The Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections reasserts its devotion to the democratic values and its intention and readiness to continue contributing to the improvement of the electoral processes in Moldova.
