City Police did not receive the computers promised half a year ago
Interim Mayor Vasile Ursu ordered to create a special commission that would verify the reasons the police offices of the municipality did not receive computers, although the money for their purchase was paid half a year ago.
One of the mayor’s counsellors, Arcadie Cojocaru was appointed chairman of the commission. According to him, the special commission will be created within several days and will start to work next week.
The decision to purchase 60 computers for the Municipal Police was made by the Chisinau Municipal Council last summer at the request of the General Police Office. The allotted sum amounts to MDL 600 thousand.
According to the head of the Public Order Department within GPO, Iurie Cirjanovschi, the tender for the purchase of the computers was started only on September 30. Because this is a new experience for the institution, the preparations for the organisation of the tender lasted more time than planned, Cirjanovschi said. The documents on the stocks of computers were examined during 2 months, taking into account that it is about a significant amount of money to be spent.
The General Police Office received the last accessories last week, thus the computers will be sent to the police offices starting Tuesday, January 9. All the computers will be operational by the end of the month, the head of the Public Order Department stated.
58 computers will be distributed to the police offices, and 2 will be used as servers that will store all the information related to the activity of the Municipal Police.
