City hall requested money from ecologists for leaves evacuation
Interim mayor Vasile Ursu declared at the beginning of this week that he will not allow the situation from last autumn to repeat itself, when because of money lack for transportation, the leafage was gathered in bundles, so kids and adults could arson them.
The reason set forth by the interim mayor was that while leafs are burning they spread a lot of toxic gases, which are extremely dangerous for one’s health. Ursu said that the leafage will be transported outside the city, and the population will be mobilized for its gathering.
The mayor requested from the Ecologic Fund, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources “financial aid for City Hall’s efforts to transport and to store the leafage”.
The answer of the responsible ministry was prompt; it endorsed the allocation of some territories for leafage storage at Pruncul and Purcel quarries that are close to the town.
Sources within the Chisinau Ecologic Agency declared for Info-Prim Neo that, in Chisinau, the leafage burning is prohibited for approximately 10 years because of air pollution with toxic substances. According to them, citizens that arson the leafage risk to be sued or punished with harsh fines.
