The authority regulating the municipal transport says it can do nothing at present to avoid flows of pluvial water on Albisoara Street at the crossing with the bridge on Renasterii Street. The cause of the problem is that the drainage system was built at the same level with the Byk River, the head of the Transport Department Veaceslav Tarna says. He stated that the problem can be solved only by reconstructing the drainage system. “The only solution is to carry out a previously drafted project of the City Hall, which would reshape the riverbed of Byk and rebuild of the road drainage system”, Tarna says. He says that the drainage system can not be changed at the moment, because it depends on the level of the street, but the level of the street can not be raised because the bridge requires a certain height. The cited source says that there are six places in the municipality of Chisinau where in case of heavy rains problems of this kind usually occur.
